I’m so glad that you said that, I may not have autism, but my 3 year old daughter Reagan does and I know I’ll never see the world like she does. And I have never thought that she needed to be cured, she just is the way she is, and she is a beautiful human being inside and out. Personally, I can’t wait to see how she developes and she has my full support until I take my last breath. Did anyone else find this video to be creepy?

I got diagnose Autism, and i am living in protected environment where we work,i paint,i am a painter and an artistic painter,relax,sleep,eat,drink,have little parties sonetimes with music. And we have guidance from professionals. It’s on a big farm, and we are very happy here. Corrie Kersten started it in 1981, and we all still here living happily.

Depends. It’s not as if autism is as simple as an on/off thing. I agree that people who possess one of the milder forms of autism, like Asperger’s, definitely don’t need to be ‘cured’ at all.

But then there are other autistic people who utterly lack basic social skills and learning capabilities. Some so severe that they need near-constant care and supervision. That seems to be the type of person people think of when they hear ‘autism,’ and the type they think needs to be ‘cured.’

Well I myself have autism, and I have never saw the world in that way (ironically my vision is better than 20/20). I think you can do all the research you want, but you’ll never be able to come close to understanding what it is like to have autism.

If anyone did, there would likely be less people saying how it needs to be “cured”. That’s like saying I also should be “cured” of my blue eyes, when in reality there is nothing wrong with such.

not neccesserly, my mom works with autistic children and has found that a lot of the recent diagnosed in fact don’t have autism and have different conditions. But since autism allows the child more help from the goverment than other similar conditions a lot of kids are diagonosed as autism when they don’t have it. Its also more known than other conditions, so a lot of the increase involves children being misdignosed.
