Fruit flies are used as a model organism in molecular biology and genetics. Studies done on them have yielded incalculable insights into the development of multi-cellular organisms, into neurobiology, ect. Unless you would like us to start using human beings as research subjects, sit down and shut up, Sarah Palin.
