My Son has an Auditory Processing Disorder that falls under the Autism Spectrum, as well as some of the OCD -related aspects of Autism. He doesn’t experience is the lack of social interaction, as he loves talking/playing with friends and family. He is 5 now, and has approximately the vocabulary and logical understanding of a child of 2.

For example, hitting a child and tell them to stop crying will have the opposite effect. They will cry more and get angered more, no matter how hard you hit them.

Yes it does help. Some autistic children don’t like (even the smallest of) changes. You could make a schedule for them so they can do activity X or Y at a certain time. Like always shower when you wake up, and not after school or something like that. Children with Asperger usually have trouble recognizing emotions. You can teach them that when a person has this or that facial expression, they feel angry, happy etc… You can also learn them how to cope with those emotions.
