    zaphraud, you have …
zaphraud, you have no idea what you’re talking about. People with Asperger’s need to learn to recognize social cues most people take for granted, and even then don’t always get it right. Involved parents and speech & occupational therapy since pre-K didn’t make middle or high school any easier.

    It differs from …
It differs from where you are on the spectrum. People with Aspergers tend to have high IQs, and autistic savants can have eidetic (photographic) memory and amazing skills at painting. Hope I cleared that up :)

    I’m autistic and I …
I’m autistic and I like to design things and stuff alike. I play Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 a lot because I get to design my own parks. I also like to express my feelings through literature because I find it hard to express them in everyday life. Just so you know. lol.

    Say… If it turns …
Say… If it turns out there is any truth to the recent hypothesis that a VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY can cause or worsen autism, wouldn’t this product make it worse by giving children yet another reason to not get enough sunlight (which the body needs to make Vitamin D)

Maybe Google should get working on a laptop screen that is easy to read in direct sunlight, and give kids solar powered laptops.

    As written above, I …
As written above, I agree partially. But then, all the “good parenting” won’t make autistics non-autistic. Also, there’s no need for that. The solution is way “simpler” and pain-less:

Acceptance and caring for each other.

  15. SillyR0b says:

    Your anwser seems …
Your anwser seems to imply a “no” for an answer to my question, but I am not certain.

And you have a point here: all children need “good parenting” (a vague and relative term). Unfortunately, there seem to be more children that need it, than parents that can give it. :^(

  16. SillyR0b says:

    That’s not a …
That’s not a symptom of autism per se either.
Please consult a psychiatrist experienced with autism, if you have serious reason to believe that you might really be “close enough to autism on the spectrum”.

    If you read about …
If you read about the most effective “autism therapies” – the ones that work – they basically boil down to lots and lots of involved interaction with the child.

There are many people who will characterize this as just plain “good parenting” instead of something you’d only want to give a child with clinically diagnosable problems.
