Here is Jade stacking blocks at 20 mos, 3 weeks before we discover she is autistic. Note the absence of eye contact, and lack of sharing her achievement with me, although I am very vocal, and seated right next to Jade. These are critical early signs of autism. Jade never lined things up, as some children with autism do, she enjoys stacking objects. Notice how Jade must continue to build, even while upset that her tower falls. At the end, she plays a song on a toy, the same song she would …

Just wait till this …
Just wait till this girl learns to go get a stool for a higher height in her reach.
The count points out the failure.
The conditioning of correct useful behavior for higher reinforcement is likely to get a child who focuses on smart adults who teach what she wants to learn.
The holding of a tower takes away the “magic” any magician or watching audience member knows that.
I do like the help in the end along with the song. Good video with description.

Having autism often …
Having autism often equals greater intelligence, in certain areas. When filming this video, Ihad no idea what autism was. I simply thought this was amazing, and that she would follow in our family’s footsteps and be an engineer! Jade also began to read at age 2! Had she not been autistic, I doubt she would have these amazing abilities. Thank you for your kind words
What amazes me is …
What amazes me is that a child without autism may not be able to stack a pile of block as high as that, Jade on the other hand achieves this task over and over even though she gets frustrated at times, having autism does not equal less intelligence, I had no idea. Bless her and she is so lucky to have you as a mommy.

she is so beautiful and clever!
I may be autistic …
I may be autistic as well; watching her build towers out of blocks is oddly satisfying.
I would see nothing …
I would see nothing wrong with stacking blocks, its only her complete disregard of her mom that makes her seem unusual. And that when she was done there was no clapping or giggles of joy on her accomplishment.

I guess what you are REALLY trying to say is that you have no clue what autism is right? So if you know nothing, why do you post a comment?
