Here’s the story — well, the first five years — in the life of Quinn: a wonderful, exuberant, mostly non-verbal boy with autism. You can see how the signs appeared over time, even before his diagnosis was made at 21 months.

Very sweet boy!!! Bless him!!!
The term disabled …
The term disabled is a value judgement relative to wider society, I personally do not consider autism a ‘disablement’. Actually, the lack of self-awareness or ego that epitomises autism has striking correlations with the Buddhist concept of enlightenment.

Thanks, its a great video. Our son is 3 years old and exhibiting some similar things with numbers and letters. He is more verbal tho. He can spell his name already both with letter, writing and audibly…kids with autism are so amazing!

great job.
This video is beautiful.
His eyes are amazing and it is incredible how children who are disabled can achieve so much.
Autism isn’t …
Autism isn’t anything bad, I know there are harsher cases than this but when you have … well what looks to be mild autism like he has, he basically has a head start over everyone else.
What I mean is, unlike other people he has a long attention span, which means if he gets obsessed with something, he can do amazing things. When other people say, “slack for this, It’s too hard” he’ll keep going and going. Like if he practised a musical instrument hours and hours a day, he could be the best!
What an amazing kid …
What an amazing kid! God bless you and give you strength and wisdom.
As I work in the …
As I work in the hospital with autistic children, I am pretty sure this boy hasn’t got Asperger’s syndrome, since I understood that he doesn’t speak (or just a little). Children with the syndrome of Aspergers have a normal language development.
Very nice video!! I wish you all the best!

What a darling child. I am uming he has Asperger’s syndrome, explaining his facination with letters and patterns. He is a delight I am sure!!
Well here’s your …
Well here’s your second opinion. He most likely has Asperger’s syndrome, a spectrum disorder (a form of Autism). He has all the s/s of it: facination with letters and scripting. He happens to be non verbal. I am sure his parent’s have gotten a 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th opinion during this journey.
I have to say, what …
I have to say, what an amazing boy! All those abilities such as attention spans, memory, spelling etc just made gasp in wonder. One thing I believe, mam, is those things should just offset the inabilities that he has

I have a daughter …
I have a daughter that just turned 6, I have never met anyone with an autistic daughter. My daughter is not speaking, she is still in diapers, but she was speaking at 2 and was singing, writing etc – basically normal then she just stopped and her behaviour became more infantile – she would put things in her mouth all the time, she would start eating her food then would just drop it all over the place. Could you tell me what challenges you are facing with your daughter…?
My brother has …
My brother has autism and he does all of the same things.
Quinn is such a …
Quinn is such a beautiful boy! My child too has autism. I suspected it nearly 2 years before she was finally diagnosed (because people were in denial cos she was affectionate). She is 4 yrs old and still does not talk. To anyone who says this or that child does not have autism because he smiles or likes to be hugged, must look at the full range of what the child is like. Not just one characteristic. God Bless Quinn!
wow he is very high …
wow he is very high functioning. My son is 5 and still does not talk or write. He has trouble using his super talker even though it is just a picture board. Autism is so puzzling because it is such a large umbrella symptoms and there are so many levels of it. What a wonderful video to make for him. He looks like a beautiful child. I happen to think one of the things I love most about my son is found in his autism. He is unique and wonderful and so much fun!

My 5 year old …
My 5 year old daughter has autism. A lot of people are so ignorant of what it is, or how difficult it can be raise her. The ignorance bothers me more. Still, she’s making wonderful progress, and she is still beautiful to me,even when she stims or acts up.
